I like my MR so far ... the tranny kinda sucks for city driving, but having a taller highway gear is nice. I haven't tried the tranny on a spirited mountain drive yet, but I'm sure it will be fun. I'm going on the 11th of November.

The suspension is fairly stiff and predictable. People say it's softer than the IX/RS suspension, but it fells pretty stiff to me. I haven't pushed too hard, but the body roll is minimal while cornering and the car feels very planted and solid in all situations I've encountered so far. I have no experience with the IX/RS suspension so I cannot compare for you.

Hope this helps.

Get the MR, I did. I've never been happier! I traded an '03 GSR that was 7 months old for it.

the thing is if you buy a gsr and get every accessory on it that you really want you'll be paying just as much as getting an mr....accessories like aluminum shift knob, carbon fiber brake handle, hid lights, wickerbill, front chin spoiler, front air brake guides, vortex generators, sports guage package, and so forth but you still won't have bilstein shocks or 6 speeds or an aluminum roof...lol

but if getting a sunroof is that important to you....go ahead....it's still an evo

I think this guy is missing the point.

Your decision shouldn't be between gsr and mr, it should be between used and new. Used evo is not a good idea at any time unless u know the owner personally and trust them.

That is just nonsense. It's not that hard to tell if a car has been abused. Just find a good used one and you will come out way ahead since someone else will have eaten Mitsubishi's massive depreciation leaving you with a practically new car and money to spare

If I had it to do over again I'd probably get a GSR SE. I didn't know that the MR's transmission was a little weak in fourth gear. I don't regret my choice, it's just that if I ever blow 4th gear I'll end up going to the 5 speed.

You are all forgetting about the 10-year powertrain warranty. It is not transferable. If you are going to mod then it won't matter, but to many it does.

I'm not forgetting about it - I just don't consider it to be that big of a deal.

For one, if you really want an extended warranty on your used Evo IX, you can get one.

Secondly, I would never list the 10-year powertrain warranty as a benefit given Mitsu's horrible track record on honoring them. Sounds good in theory but if they won't actually fix anything, a lot of good it does you.
