New Evo vs neighbors cat....
Let me start off by saying I really like animals, and even go out of my way to miss squirrels that run out in front of me on the road. Ok, so one of my neighbors has really fat cat that has been hanging around my house all summer. When it first came around I ignored it, but it kept coming around so I eventually started petting it once in awhile.
So the other day I trade in my 05 Tacoma for a new Evo IX, and it was like love at first sight. Later that night I stepped outside while talking to a friend about my new ride on the phone, and looked around the corner of my house to admire my new Evo. Just as I turn the corner I see the neighbors cat jumping up on the hood of my car! It kinda shocked me for a moment as I watched it curl up over my hood vents to get warm.
My first reaction was to run over and swat it off my hood, but what happened next must have been some type of subconscious reaction. After I swatted it off my car it ran about 20 feet, and turned to look at me in a "FU I'll be back dude!" stare. Next thing I know I was picking up a rock out of the stone garden next to my house and chucking it at it in my best Randy Johnson inpersonation. The loud CRACK sound I heard next is what snapped me out of my moment of rage to watch the fat cat sprint off like a mini evo.
Part of me feels horrible, as I haven't seen the cat since that night. I don't even know which neighbor owns the cat or if it's just a stray that someone in the neighborhood feeds, so I can't go make sure the cat is ok. I'm still paranoid that it's gonna come back, so now I constantly check on my car for the first hour or so after I get home, till the hood cools.
Anyways, I just wanted to share my new evo story, and confess my love for my new evo.

Evo
Congrats on the new purchase of the EVO. Great choice.
Sorry to hear about the cat. I guess it' a natural reaction to do what's necessary to protect your brand new baby, the EVO. So did you actually hit the cat with the rock or miss it? Hopefully, you didn't kill it. Let us know if you spot it anymore. Good luck.
New Evo > some cat.
I would've coaxed the cat off the car though. If it got scared and felt it was in danger and extended its claws, talk about scratches all over my hood. I don't mind if a cat sleeps on my hood vent as long as it doesn't crap on the car or leave scratches. They can enjoy my Evo in a different way from me. Sharing is caring.
