Newbiiee to the evo's
Hey guyss. I'm a total newb with evo's. Right now I got a civic si. Not an evo by any standards. Next weekend I'm goin evo shopping so I'll have one very soon. I joined early to try n get some education on evo's so I no what to expect when I take it home. A civic is nothing compared to an evo. N.A to turbo is a big change. I no alooot about the civic. But I'm gettin myself into a totally different thing here. If u guys got any pointers or tips for me to help me know what I'm gettin myself into. P.M. me or comment bck. Anyhting. Thnks guysss.
Hey bro, I also went from a Honda to Mitsubishi. Except I had an RSX Type-S. The clutch is the first thing you'll notice and need to get use to. Lots of people on this forum DID NOT break in their evo's either. So thats up to you. When you get it do an early oil change at 1K miles and be ready to buy a new clutch soon if you drive a lot. I think thats what everyone told me when I got my Evo...
I recommend not getting a highly modified EVO because you don't know how hard they drove the car. Lots of beat up EVOs out there. Maybe going to the dealer and picking up one would be a good idea. You don't want to take over someone's else's problems. Drive the EVO and decide which model you want to fit your budget and pick a mod friendly dealership. My dealership has a tuner on staff that tunes

The clutch is fine if ur gettin a new evo. It all depends on how u drive.
Wat do u mean lots of ppl in this forum did not break in their evo??? The majority of members have broken their evo ( the most correct way is to have the car warmed up- drivin it slow a lil first. Then boost occasionally which is around 4500 max rpm, u dont want to baby the car and u dont want to redline the car.
Jus search there been threads on ppl saying new to the evo and stuff. Lots of info has been covered. Jus drive it slow cause this car is quick and ppl tend to crash cause they think their invincible ( b/c they dont kno how to control the car).
Oo.. Well I dunno if I'm gettin a new evo or a used one. It'll probly be an evo 9. My dad is a mechanic n is goin wit me to get it so he's gonna check it out so I won't havta wrry. He notices everything from site. But it depnds wht we find and what deals we can get on the evo if it's new or not. I mean I no goin from a civic to an evo is diff. But I mean yea I won't drive it hard and I do drive alot so I'm gonna havta get use to the clutch quick and I'm gonna havta get one on hold as a bck up. Thnks guys. Keep the tips coming.

the guys were right when they mentioned beatdown evos. I purchased mines used. desperately wanted one that time and couldn't afford the new dogs with the markups. Now it seems like i spend about the same amount replacing the parts into new parts which in turn could've got me a new evo hehe. Just remember keep it safe and first time u do full throttle with that baby, it ain't gonna be no honda
I gave up an S2000 for mines.
