Hey guys i am running a HKS BOV and since i am venting to atmosphere i am wondering if i have to also purchase the EIDS. As of right now it seems as if there
is no boost whatsoever. any ideas?

 

yea ur gonna have to recirc unless u buy that for it. i have mine recirculating and its working fine but i hear if u vta without a tune its gonna stall at idle

 

The part that i dont understand is it came with hoses, upper intercooler pipe and it doesnt go past 3500 rpm...am i leaking boost?

 

The HKS SSQ is crap. Get a recirculating BOV.

 

most likely you have a boost leak. make sure you go over all of the upper intercooler pipe connections and make sure they are seated properly. fyi, you are going to have nothing but trouble with that bov, recirculating or vent to atmosphere. why spend 300 on a bov when you have a metal bov stock.

 

The evo monitors the air coming out of the bypass and back into the intake tract. The 05's and the IX's arent as picky as the 03 and 04's, but your still gonna have trouble. Check over all your piping and find that leak then put your factory BOV back on and sell the HKS to some ricer honda kid. Pretty much the only way you can run a VTA BOV, reliably, is to run the AEM EMS. Or you can recir. the HKS. The factory one on the IX's can hold 25+ psi.
