what should i do

i recently made some stupid decisions with money and right now dont have much saved at all. so i could do three things. 1. sell my car and buy a new IX with basically no down payment and have an over $500 car payment. 2. sell my car and buy a slightly used evo and have a lesser car payment being closer to 400. 3. sell my car, buy a pos truck and save money then buy an evo. i dont know what to do because im affraid if i wait i wont be able to get what i want. i want a WW IX MR preferably but i would take a IX GSR. im just un happy with my car now and i owe alot on it being that i just bought it. i dont know..what do you guys think?

Save save save. Buying a car without a minimum of a 20% down payment is just plain risky. Cars depreciate over time, so you could be in a huge financial hole if you're unable to make the payments.

Might as well go with the IX and pay the extra for a brand new car. At least you know you're the first owner and won't have to deal with problems from aftermarket back to stock part swaps.

A stock IX is still enough car for most people. You would be surprised at how quickly you could save up for mods as well. Just $10 here and there and the next thing you know, you have enough for reflash. Even that on a stock Evo would make it fly.

Thats a good idea. If you really want a IX get it. It's kind of a risk buying a used one. On the other hand if you get lucky and know what to look for on a used perfomance car you could get a good used one. And for mods just put a little aside each paycheck for your mods.

IMO, buying an Evo would be another stupid money decision in your situation.

i would agree. cars are the worst investment since they depreciate so much. the only cars that are worth investing in are the rare rare cars that you can buy and sell it for even more.

but, there are people who love cars and we here all love our evos right

and the evo's maintainance will add up

Save your money and keep your current car OR trade it in for the IX.

It's kind of pointless to spend money a pos car when that amount can be use towards the down payment portion.

You buy one now with no downpayment, (witout taking into account your other car) you are going to be probably $6-7k upside down off the bat. That doesn't even take into account the huge hit you are going to take on this other car you apparently just bought - sounds like you might be upside down on it so you are in an even bigger hole then. You lose your job or something with no money in the bank to begin with and now a fat $500/month car payment and you've got a bigger mess than before. And even if you turn around and sell the car, you are still underwater.

Sorry, sounds like you really have talked yourself into getting one but it just doesn't make financial sense to be buying a $30k car with no money in the bank and no money down.

Sell your car, get something cheap, clean up your old mess and get some money in the bank. There will be nice used Evo IXs to be had a year from now. And someone else will have eaten the biggest chunk of depreciation on them (especially when the new X's come out) so you will come out far ahead than if you bought one now.

Not really good advise. You can get a lot of car for $2-3k if you shop around. That leaves you without a car payment, cheaper insurance, and it also will net you close to the same amount when you get some money saved up and want to sell it again. I've owned several cars that were purchased for under $4k and I ended up making money or breaking even on all of them.
