dependable auto shippers

I'm so ready to buy an evo from south coast, but I have to have it shipped here. So since this is the only option I'm scared they're gonna **** something up on it. Those that have delt with them please share your experience.

DAS shipped my car from South Coast when I bought it there last March.

They were a week late and I had several small gouges on the lower part of the rear bumper (since I didn't notice them until after I started cleaning the car, I didn't bother trying to fight them over making a claim - I just had it repaired at the body shop where I work).

Bottom line, I would not recommend them to anyone unless they were your only choice. And even then, I'd ask about getting a guaranteed delivery date - they apparently have something like this for an extra fee, but since it was never offered when I made the arrangements, I didn't know it.

Well that scares me a bit seeing that I was pretty close to buying my car from south coast and using DAS.

Check with DAS as to what optional shipping features you can get (guaranteed delivery date, etc.). South Coast is really great to work with, so unless you can get a local dealer to come anywhere close to their price, it still may be worth taking a chance.

Truthfully, there's no reason you have to have the car sent through DAS though- you could just as easily hire another company to bring it to you. It's not like South Coast insists that you use DAS or they won't sell you the car.

IX GSR: $28,099 7 miles on the ODO still in the packing tape from South Coast Mitsubishi in CA.
Shipping: $950

Local dealerships weren't even close in that price. Best they would do was $30,650 and they didn't have the right color.

Thats pretty expensive shipping. Im getting ready to ship my car using DAS from san diego to JFK airport and that is only going to cost me 460 plus an extra 150 if i want it on the top rack. you can get a better deal from them than 950. i chose jfk cause im heading to maine and that was the best place to ship to, so i can stop by the city, then drive off to maine. DAS isnt that bad of a company and when they shipped my friends STI, they made sure the accounted for all dents and scratches, even ones i didnt see, just so you couldnt say they f'ed it up. Im not their spokesperson or nothing, im just stating that they did a good job with my friends car, so im going to do the same, it even got there 6 days ahead of the due date.

Yeah, I regret getting the top tier stuff, including insurance and expedited shipping. Four days after they tok it from the dealership to their terminal and it still hasn't budged.

Well, they give you a 16 day window for the car to travel. it just depends on which day you take it to the yard for it to be shipped. i guess my friend got lucky and took it the day it was shipping out. hopefully i get that lucky.

I was going to use them but my insurance didn't cover the transporter so it would have been an extra $200- for the rice of the shipper and the priveledge of owning an EVO- I flew to pick mine up and drove 13 hours straight to get home. I did stretch her legs a little on the ride, along a portion of open interstate, myself, an Audi A8 and a BMW 760Li did about 120 for 1hour then I turned yellow and the radar went off so I backed it off. I later saw them both pulled by the same cop on the other side of the Metropolitan area that we were approaching.

I got 2 of my cars shipped from CA to KY from DASautoshippers. Both arrived 2-3 days early and in perfect condition. They even washed it before delivery. If any damage occurs during transfer, they pay to have it repaired.
