I have found nothing wrong with the car and love every second driving it even if i'm in bumper to bumper traffic. I was disappointed when i realized cruise control was missing but got over that real quick.
actually i completely forgot about the missing CC until i read this post.

I don't know of any major reliability issues, especially not on the awesome IXs...

PEOPLE STEAL EVOS! very true! http://www.iihs.org/news/rss/pr060706.html
The biggest problem is all of the knobs crashing them and jacking up the insurance rates. I love the " I was just driving down the street when my car flipped 10 times and it was totaled" stories. I think too many people come on here read all of this crap and then try to drive it like that every time they get in it.
The only thing that really makes me sad is that more of them don't get killed

The Evo's racing and rally heritage notwithstanding, it is a very rewarding car to drive on a daily basis. To each his own. I have never raced mine (largely because I don't live near a track) but I enjoy driving it all the time. Spirited driving, in town driving, highway cruising - it's all still a rush. Besides, if Mitsubishi never intended this car to do anything besides be flogged at a track it wouldn't come with a SSL option. IMO the Evo is a multi-purpose car in many ways - safe, practical, functional and exhilirating all at the same time. If I knew someone who bought an Evo, rarely boosted it, drove it like a grandmother and enjoyed it I would not think "What a waste". I would think, "It's that person's $32K. As long as they're happy..."
