**thinking about getting a EVO IX**

i currently own a 05 STI. i've been thinking of trading my car in for a EVO IX just cause the simple fact that evo IX pull nice numbers with minor bolt-ons. i was thinking of putting a TBE, intake, MBC, fuel pump and COMP 280 cams tuned on 91 OCTANE, what kind of numbers would i pull? just wondering......

Keep in mind, people only report/make threads when they have problems or something is wrong. Every car looks horrible on its own forums, because people dont post saying "My car has no problems /end thread"

Keep that in mind.

haven't heard any problems with the 9. Mine has been rock solid.

CAMS for the 9 right now are only made from TurboTrix, COMP, and GSC. These will replace both (Intake and Exhaust cams). HKS hasn't release any cams for the 9, but you can just get their Exhaust cam. You will not see much, or not maybe not any gains.

With just a drop-in filter (K&N or Works), TBE (CAT or TP),boost controller (EBC or MBC), and a tune (any good tuner near your area). You will be seeing 300awhp or much more, this is also depending on the DYNO that is used and your baseline on that dyno.

i tested the first set and if you plan on keeping the stock turbo go with the 280/272 combo. eric from ams tested that combo with the same set up as me and i think he made a few more ponies. you should pick up about 15-20 hp. i have a meth kit from ams installed since then and made 365 hp and 385tq. this is up from 330 hp 326 tq. the car is insane with the meth kit. the torque kicks my ***. i'm doing a turbo upgrade this spring and with talking with ams and greg at gsc that is when these cams will show the most potential. i'm on my second evo and i really never had any major problems. on my evo viii i had around 10 track days and never a problem. get one and enjoy. just don't wait too long.
after typing this i had to go drive my evo. i haven't driven it in a week. the car is awesome. it pulls real hard. this is going to be a long winter. good luck.

I think for the expense of going from an STI to an EVO IX you could put that money into your STI and be rediculously fast.
