I was wondering the differences between the two and which way to go. Im about to buy on so i was seeing if the MR is worth the extra money.

the MR has a 6-speed(SE has 5), MR has bilstein suspension(SE has GSR suspension). other than that they're the same except the SE has different colored wheels. oh yeah, almost forgot, the SE has a few red stitched lines on the seats.

If you're going to leave it stock or with simple mod, I believe the MR is better for street use. There's complaints that the 6 spd tranny of the MR isn't so good for track purpose.

I would go with the MR if the price difference is a whole lot.

 

I got my SE for just over $30k. I didn't think the MR was worth it, but it's pretty much up to the individual.

yes they do, its available only in silver, graphite grey and then black as a special color to the MR

same as an MR except for different color rims, red stiched seats and a lip

 

Does the SE have the aluminum body like the MR?

 

.......I like the extra gear for everyday driving, and hence I bought the MR........I've been on the track too and the 6-speed works fine.....I agree, the 5-speed would be better on the track though.......I got my MR in April for $35 large........the SE saves about $2-3 grand depending on the dealer.......they have a sweet IX MR SE in black at my local dealer....asking full sticker at roughly $38K......

I have the brochure in my hands....it says it has the aluminum roof panel only - not the fenders and hood like the MR.....

That's because all IXs have aluminum front fenders and hood. The aluminum roof can be had on the RS, the SE and the MR.
