There are countless threads talking about this. Have you read them all?

PS. They both work fine...

yes i have read all of them and they all seem inconclusive but the main reason i am asking is because i drove my car for about a month now with no problems and since i hooked up my mbc i am getting the all so familiar rpm rise between shifts just looking to see if anyone else had this problem and why

Well, it's not related to how which of those 2 methods you choose for the MBC. You also said nothing about the real problem and only asked people to vote on which method they prefer. If you want help solving your rpm rise problem, then post about that. The current topic has been beaten to death already, and both methods work just fine.

I noticed in this picture that you removed the old factory boost line and mount to use your red vac line. While doing this you had to take off your guide for you throttle cable, i also see in your picture that you did not install it back correctly. I think you throttle cable may be sticking slightly.

They both do work fine but the turbo nipple for the pressure source is better. I would not use the vac line from the manifold to the BOV as your source as pressure. See all a boost controller does is bleed off pressure and the reason that line runs from your manifold to your BOV is to keep pressure on the BOV to help it stay closed. So when your boost controller starts to bleed off pressure to control boost you are actually reducing the pressure on your BOV which can make it leak at higher rpm which will cost you power

i used option 2. that is the way Al hooked mine up way back in jan '05. has worked flawlessly since. any car he works on is solid (but everyone knows this already).

FYI, if u don't investigate/research b4 posting, u will get hammered by the Warrtalon squad...

I think you saying that "all a boost controller does is bleed off pressure" is a little misleading especially to a newb. There is a little more to it than that. And the BOV does a bit more than you state.
