Adding boost w/no fuel tuning???

I am new here, and new to EVOs...had many dsms, but never an evo so I apologize if this has been asked a million times....

Can I add a drop in filter, catback and 2psi of boost or so via a manual boost controller without a tune? Is there enough fuel already in it? I ask because I want to be able to de-mod to take into the dealer for any work.

Also,

Would I gain more with a catback or a downpipe?

Thanks.

Yes you can add boost safely without a tune.

Most people would say about 21psi is the max you can run on pump gas without a tune. Maybe a little lower just to be safe.

The catback would be a better option for removing restriction at this point. The downpipe wont really help without the rest of the pieces :P

yes you can...

i use 93 octone only and my boost is 22 falling to 19psi... i have a mbc, intake, catback, but this saturday i am installing my dp and HFC and next saturday i am tuning it with adding a walbro too....

No probs with the added boost, except the speed limit....

You would be shocked at how rich the stock timing on the ECU is. I was running pig rich from 4K rpms to redline before my tune.
