I need some idea's on Mod's

Hey guy's, I am trying to figure out what I want to do to the EVO. I have had it for about 6-7 months and I want to start modding. I was going to leave it alone and spend money on a girl but as per usual nothing works out in my favor there, so I have decided to take my aggression out by modding the evo. Not because i want to destroy the thing because I enjoy doing it and I need to pick up a busy hobby.

I have a WW IX MR, right now the only mod I have is the JUN BL cat back exhaust. Which isnt bad but I want something with a mean sound. So here is what I want to do:

1. Get a full turbo back exhaust, test pipe if i can pass emissions in MD (if anyone knows that would help)
2. Lower the MR, I don't track it much I mainly want to bring it down for looks. Springs or Coilovers?? I have talked to a few people that went with springs they seem to be happy with it.
3. Boost Controller, which one and how much psi do you recommend running? I have heard around 21psi is safe
4. ECU Flash. I will be doing a ECU Flash through Extreme Motorsports here in MD
5. Tint I want something dark but not limo, any ideas on what would look good with white.
6. Air Intake, CAI or just the cone off of the MAF?

Any idea's would be helpful. I just looking for some help here guys, please don't bash i still am learning about the evo.

Thanks in advance for any information/recommendations you guys can give.

1. Good. Donno - Im not in MD.
2. Make sure the springs agree with the MR shocks.
3. IX - 22 to 24.
4. Who is Extreme Motorsports? Go with a tried and true Evo Tuner.
5. Any tint looks good on white - thats my opinion. But why ask us? Its your car.
6. Do not put on a CAI that replaces the tubing post MAF. All you need is a drop in or (with a tune) a cone filter replacement.
7. DO NOT GET A HKS SSQV!!! VTA on Evos causes many problems. This is one of the worst BOVs ever made for this car.

I highly recommend you search and read much more on 6 of the 7 points (minus the one on the tint).

Advance Search:

You can search all you want, sometimes you have to ask questions. I knew someone was gonna be a smartass and do something like that. Sorry for even asking.

thisonecountz -- you asked questions that have been posted on, thought about, discussed, reposted on, discussed somemore, and thought about again...etc.

All of your topics can be answered thru searching. Simple as that.

1. Search or PM members in MD that have mods.
2. Search Springs and MR.
3. Search IX Boost.
4. Search ECU flashing or tuning.
5. N/A.
6. Search Drop in or Cone.
7. Search VTA.

EDIT: Regarding Extreme Motorsports - Im not saying they are bad, but not much is know about them (or at least on here). There are horror storys on the mi board about this place called Tuner Factory - they say they can tune Evos - but every one of them gets f'ed over by poor tuning and installations. Just dont want that to happen to other Evo owners. Do you pick up what Im putting down?

Relax thisonecountz, it is all in good fun. I wasn't posting this to get your Huggies in a wad. These are BASIC questions, and they have been talked to death on here. YOU have to pick the parts YOU want for your car. Unless WE drive it for you. Do some checking and researching FIRST, then we can jump in when you have more "Specific" questions we can answer.

In fact i'll just go to them and ask questions, this forum is no help. Nothing but bashing Search guru's.
Insert high-pitched shrill here: " I'm taking my ball and going home!" We offer nothing but help here, but I don't feel like pulling out a Burp-cloth and answering these Rudimentary questions, WITHOUT some searching efforts on your part. I bet he will be back soon.

I know most of the questions are basic but honestly I have been getting tired of searching around so I just wanted to post something up to see if i could get some help. I will be on the forum, just askin for a little help thats all dude.

another good quote would have been "Screw you guys, I'm going home" lol... Cartman, love that fat ****!

Ya, searching can suck sometimes - but its the name of the game.

if you trust them, and feel they can do a good job - then by all means use them.

Good sense of humor though.

Ok, I feel better I didn't pi$$ you off that bad. Now maybe more specific question, like goals, paths etc, and we could help you a bit more. TRUST ME, we all are helpful here to some extent. If you go look at some of my threads/posts, ALL have some sort of idiocy in them, but I am still there to help.
