I'm looking purchasing a new IX SE, but there aren't any badges on the trunk other than the 3 Diamond Mitsu symbol. Doesn't the SE at least have a badge on the trunk that states that it is an Evolution IX?

 

Yes the IX SE does have a badge on the right hand side as you look at the rear end, plus the normal Lancer Evolution on the bottom left.

Yeah, I've got a IX SE, and it's in the lower right hand corner. A red emblem that says "SE" and just beneath it "Special Edition" all on what looks like a 2.5x2.5 badge.

 

if you are looking to purchase one, how about going into the damn dealership and not take up space on this site with useless posts? great thing to base a purchase on too, the existence, or lack thereof, of a badge on the trunk

Basing your purchase on whether or not it has a particular badge is wrong? Do you even read these forums? How is that different than basing your purchase on what color the vehicle is or any other feature for that matter?

Uhh guys, I don't see anywhere in his post where he states he is going to buy an SE if it has badges. He simply asked "aren't they supposed to have a badge or something?" Maybe he looked at a car that was claimed to be an SE and there were no markings as such. It seems to me he is simply trying to find a way to properly identify the model of car he is wanting to buy.

there are no badges on IX SE it doesn't even say IX.... it just say evolution MR.... but you can definitely see the difference in a non se evos... I think only 1900 manufactured for USDM.

I believe the GSR 9 SE have the red badge on the right hand side and the MR 9 SE don't have it. At least when I went to the dealership it was that way.

Props to the original poster for asking this question. Guess what? Yep you know it, I just bougfht a IX SE and there are no badges. I frankly was not paying enough attention as I should.

So I will follow this thread to see if this is the norm. My dealer is getting the badges and will install for free.

So let's see if others have issues too.
