Not neccessarily. For the USDM the IX MR and the IX MR SE have the aluminum roof panel. The standard IX (GSR) and the IX with SSL have the regular roof panel.

and for the price of a used VIII you can get a new IX rs for a few thousand more with a lot less miles and a beat car. Plus you get the factory warranty.

All IXs have the carbon fiber dash, it's the other interior bits (like the E-brake handle in the MR) that aren't in all models. They also all have the Recaros. It's obvious that not all IXs have the aluminum pedals (like the RS), but I didn't want to list the differences between each IX, I just wanted to point out the changes between the VIII and IX. And no IX has the intercooler waterspray.
