btw it wasn't a blowoff valve

it was capacitator that leads into your air intake that fuels and ignites your steam train

Had a feeling someone was going to chime in like that.

Lets see:

You buy a 30K sports car - has he read his proper info on the car...probably not

should he ..yes...

me being serious

Yes it was a blowoff valve...but there is no need for one at this moment because your IX will be suffice

yes that would be a blow off valve. also known to vent compressor surge which could possibly end up back into your "turbo" which would cause the "impeler" to reverse and spin it off the "shaft" creating instant detonation and flying bits of "shrapnel" that could lethally and potentially kill, hurt or maime the driver of the civic dx with the "4 in" exhaust your racing. oh and yes it makes that cool "whoosh" sound also known as "sneezing","blowing off","venting" and generally scaring the crap out of unsuspecting granma's walking on the side of the road. or the occasional passenger with his/her hand out the window.

please remember to choose your questions wisely, and as there are no dumb questions hope this small explaination helps you out with you cool sound.......

.....whooshh..........he's gone............
