--Preloading and Two-Step--
Hey all, just a question here, I do not really drag at the track, but have heard these
terms for a while now, what exactly is PRE-LOADING and TWO-STEP?? Like I said I do not drag at the track, usually if I race it has been on the streets, but I'll just raise the RPM's and rev, let the clutch out and I'm off. Thanks everyone!

When hold it at 5k i think it the rev limiter, it will build a little boost, when you launch slip the clutch out, dont just drop it, thats how u will be back at the dealership and for the other gears you shift to redline.
I can be wrong lol iam still alittle new at this but was reading and learning just want to help EVO freind.

Thanks dude, yea, I know not to totally drop it...Like I said I do not really hit the drag...but I know the two-step has something to do with the Tree Lights and the pre-loading I think has something to do with the engine or revving...hmm...
The two-step or stutterbox is a revlimiter set below the actual rev limiter of the engine (IE secondary rev limiter) that is used to build boost when launching. The 06's, im not sure on previous years, you just hold the clutch in while at a standstill hold the gas to the floor and it will hit the rev limiter at about 5k rpms. While sitting at the 2 step it will build about 8 or so psi on a stock evo, let the clutch go while slipping it and you're off..
