Noob checking in here, just to say "Hello" to everyone. Currently an '03 Lancer OZ Rally owner, but purchasing an Evo IX MR in the next month or two (which is what led me to this forum).

I've only been reading stuff on the forum for a couple of days so far, but have picked up a ton of useful info. Seems like everyone is cool here. So, "Howdy!" everyone!

HELLO, i was an 04 ralliart owner until 2 weeks ago when i got me an evo IX se. you will wish you've bought the EVO sooner. the EVO is amazing compared to our old cars. lots of new mods to these cars to try and understand. this is a great site, post pics of the new car.

Thanks, guys! And Ho-ly crapola, I might be getting my Evo as early as tomorrow! Will post piccies if I do. We might drive down to Huntington Beach Mitsu on Saturday, but we're still trying to see what kind of deal we can get out of our Fresno dealership (I know, I know, I should buy it from the HB dealer LOL). It's just that HB is a 4 hour trip each way for us. We'll see what happens...

 

Welcome, if you do come down to pick up your new car you should stop by on your way back to Bakersfield and we could take pics of the cars.

That would be cool, but now it looks like I'm getting it from Fresno after all. After work yesterday I called the Fresno dealer & told him that I intended to pick one up from one of the dealers listed online in southern Cal and I told him the price I wanted to pay. He called me back & said he'd match it! So we're leaving within the hour to go pick it up. My fiance's daughter also said she didn't want my '03 Lancer O-Z Rally (she wants an automatic car, her loss) so we're trading it in (fiance drives a Navigator, which I refer to as the "mother ship" or "the Nostromo" LOL)...

I'll make a new post with piccies this afternoon (if all goes well)!

 

My Bakersfield Mitsu laughed when I told them about South Coast specials.

 

Well, I printed the South Beach prices up and faxed them to my local dealer, then called him & explained to him that we were going to be driving down to buy one in L.A. at that price unless he wanted to match it. He took it to his manager, and they approved it!

So basically, I got my IX MR SE for $33,999, minus the $500 Mitsu loyalty rebate, and I traded my '03 O-Z Rally in for it (got $6500, a bit below trade-in blue book for one in "good" condition). Whoohoo!

I LOVE THIS CAR. I'm so glad it found me! Will post pics in general section when I get them uploaded...

BTW - Tyler, we'll have to meet sometime to take pics of the cars. I'm not too far away (couple of hours). Maybe some other members who aren't too far away will want to meet us somewhere for a beer.
