New member. Buying a evo.

Whats up.
Im new around here. Right now i drive a 2003 Jetta 1.8t.
And im shopping around for a new car.
When i started to look around i wanted to get a wrx. But when i went to a dealership, I saw a white 2003 Evo sitting there up on the curb.
So i get out and look at it then a sales person came out. And we took it for a test drive. It was my first time ever in a Evo, and im driving it.
My friend has a 05 sti and Im alot more pleased with the Evo over the STI.
With just a little turn of the wheel to the evo it turns on a dime.

But too bad it was a lil out of my price range. It had 23K miles on it and they wanted 26000. Which i think is a little high. And they would not budge one dollar.

Now what should i look for whne buying a used EVO? Is there anything i should be concerned about.

After looking over the 03 evo i found a turbo XS manual boost controler. That was put up to 16-17 PSI.

Cant wait till i find a evo in White that falls into my price range.

this is my car now.

You can get a brand new Evo IX RS for the price of the used dealer Evo.

... either sale your jetta personnaly (such as a part out on vwvortex.com or whole and you'll get more for your money) or you can trade it in... you wont be disatisfied... also do mad research so you have a true set price, and also see if they can price match to South Coast or another company... but do your homework for sure

03's are bad news from what i've heard too.. put some $ in and get a 05 MR or non MR.. im sure for taht price you can get one with a lil more $.. or why not put 24 down and finance the 06 IX MR .. itlll be worth it in the end.. or if u plan on getting coilovers and etc.. just stick with the IX GSR version.. its better for you in the long run.. esp when you wanna sell it ..
