cons:
brakes are expensive
tires are expensive
oil changes and fluids are expensive
gas doesn't sit in the tank for long
insurance is expensive
mod = no warranty
clutch expensive

pros:
100k warranty if ya dont mod
good power
comforable for a sports car
reliable if maintained 22k no problems
adult go cart
mod friendly

my old roommate had a 350z...it has around 80k and he never has had a problem

maintnence isn't as expensive
dealers are more mod friendly
the car isn't super mod friendly... if u want power its going to cost 5k for a turbo or s/c... not much else ya can do for power to those cars... exhaust is 15whp intake is 10whp... chip give 15whp
its super fun to drive but feels big and heavy

cheers!

It depends on what you are looking for. Do you want to mod the car and if so how much? You will have to remember this is an EVO forum....so there are gonna be some bias here.

If you want a 2 door then get the 350. or else get the evo.

These are two completely different cars.

Test drive both. It's better then asking on a forum.

I believe the tire wear problems you are speaking of on 350Z has been rectified recently by Nissan.
Drive by wire related problem is not limited to Nissans.
Subaru STi which also is equipped with drive by wire has issues as well when attempting many mods.
No car would give you rock solid reliabilty when you abuse it.
But, if you are conscientious about maintenance and don't go crazy with mods, evo is as reliable as any well made cars.

As stated...the cars are different in so many ways....

2 seater to 4 seater
2 doors to 4 doors
RWD to AWD

One engine is already turbocharged and responds very well to modifcations,
the other is not and doesn't respond as well relatively speaking. One is tricked out w/ most of the basic performance modifications, the other you will have to upgrade yourself in many areas other than the engine.

To me...it's a no brainer. I looked into the 350z...and found that there were sooo many problems with the car that from that alone I'd choose the Evo.

EVO > Z

hands down

To me cars like the 350Z and the RX8 are such letdowns. They have decent handling and breaking and they look good but I could NEVER justify buying one of those over an STI or EVO. If they offered turbo versions of them then that would be a different story but for now.....the power and ease of modding just aren't there.

Well if he gets the Z and then wants to mod it he will spend more money for less gains. The EVO is better in stock form AND easier to modify....
