@ around 3k mile mark, your gear shift should be a lot better.

BTW, I would use stock fluids.

my fourth gear seems pretty notchy. When shifting at around 3000 rpms it's like its rubbing on something. Also from a standstill if I row through the gears 4th refuses to go in. . It's like you have to use a little force.

I understand that the car will not shift like a Honda or Toyota, but I was just paranoid that something might be wrong. I have heard grinding into gears before and it's definitely not grinding, but it just feels like it wants to pop out when I shift from 1st to 2nd. I'm coming from a WRX so I tend to do the 1st to 2nd shift fairly slow...never had an issue with my 290wtq WRX gearbox or clutch. I just don't want to break her

Drink to that

Yeah, same here... Even with the clutch all the way down, its feels like there is something blocking the 1st to 2nd shift. But occasionally, the 1st to 2nd shifts are smooth as hell.

It's a Evo what do you expect Lol, jk.. I've had my car for nearly 2 years now and have almost 55k on it.. The gears have been when it was new and still are notchy at times, especially when first getting it warmed up in the mornings.. It's normal so don't worry with it..

Do a couple hard stops from 160 to about 80, they will stop squeaking

Mine was notchy too, i'm at 6600 miles and it's feeling a little better. Early morning shifting is rough though till it warms up.

Give it some time. It took me 3k miles for mine to shift properly. Just don't force it and you'll be fine.

My car was a little notchy until about 10,000 miles. This is normal. You will probably notice things will loosen up a bit when the tranny is hot. There is no reason you should be changing any fluids on a new car.

Regarding your brakes... Brembo brakes are designed more for performance and less for street civility. A slight squeek is also normal. My right rear squeeks, ever so slightly, until I touch the brakes then it goes away.

I have just over 10k miles on my 06 Evo IX, and third is still notch AT TIMES, but others it's extremely smooth. Also I've noticed a bit of grinding upshifting to 2nd during hard pulls, though that may just be due to the g-force not letting me pull the shifter back like normal . Also, brakes squeak a bit at times when stopping slow, esp. when they're wet (which is a lot...I live in Washington). I had an 03 SVT cobra before this, and the shifter was much more notchy than this one. It's probably just the bushings or the synchro or something, since it seems to be affected by temperature. But I wouldn't worry about it too much. Besides, if the tranny starts giving you some real problems, that should be covered in the factory 100,000 mile powertrain warranty

The tranny is not going to get any better with use. So, you have to decide if it is good enough to be acceptable or that you need to seek warranty service.
