Has anyone broken their seats?

I know this sounds really stupid, but the other day I leaned over to unlock the passenger side doors (it's an RS) and I guess I put too much pressure on the side bolster and the plastic piece on the back of the seat broke! I have contacted my local dealer and they said they want to take a picture of it and send it to a mitsu rep to get authorization for replacement. Has anybody else had this problem? I have owned a lot of cars and have never broken a seat before.

I'm about 190 lbs. I'm not exactly a giant and I really didn't feel like I was abusing the seat. I was just wondering if anybody else has had this problem. On closer inspection I realized that the plastic back on the seat is actually what supports the side bolsters and it is quite crappy plastic to be frank.

Better revert back to stock before mitsu blames it on one of your mods!

mine broke. not from my fat azz (I weight 175lbs). Take it to the dealer with the tsb. Make sure you get a whole new seat, around 1200$. Had it covered no problem.

Thanks for all your help guys, I had no idea that it was such a common problem but I really like the way the stock seats fit me so I don't want to change them out. Anyway, I am taking it in this morning to get it looked at, I will keep you posted as to what they say.

Damn, I wish I knew about the problem before. The cloth is tearing on the left side of my driver's seat and I would've loved to break my seat before my warranty was up so I could get it replaced...
