quick question about air filter

I read somewhere that you can improve ur bov sound by having different air filter. So I just bought apexi round filter. Will this replace my square air filter? Also It does come with MAF adapter. Is it easy to install? and will it make my engine bad? In lancershop under xs airfilter they listed it could be bad for ur car.

Thank you

you will have to get a tune when you put the intake on. you will proably lose power, and yes the blow off valve proably would be louder with the intake.

you may have just opened the flood gates, but I will try and throw some knowledge at ya. yes it comes with the piece to bolt to your MAF. Fairly easy to install. And without a proper tune you may experience some problems. I personaly have this filter in conjuction withthe cold air box, But I also have a tune.

Yes it comes with a MAF adapter, yes it is easy to install if you didn't buy the aluminum induction box. If you did, the two screws that go under the filter area are a pain in the butt to get to without some swivel head wrenches.

You will also need a tune as your car won't run as well as stock and that pshhhhh sound gets mighty annoying. I didn't want that noise but the stock airbox wouldn't do much good with the power I'll be hitting soon. The additional power is the only thing that's keeping me from sticking the stock box back on.

where do i install this air filter? I got it today and it came with the square looking adapter. I went outside to my car with screw driver and tried to install but cant find matching hole to put adapter.
Also I dropped one of plastic screw near intercooler. its kinda deep and cant reach. think its ok to leave it?

thank you

you'll need a cone filter/open element filter to hear the stock DV...its loud. but its best to get tuned after you change your intake since you might actually lose power
