New Evo Owner

Just bought an 06 Black IX couple days ago. Having a great time breaking it in.

Jst a quicky.. It's normal for black smoke/extreme temps straight from the factory correct? pretty sure it's just juiced and its all normal, but wanna make sure.
Thanks Evo M

Welcome.

The black smoke is normal - they come with a rich fuel map OEM.

What do you mean extreme temps?

the engine temp is runnin just a tad high, with the usual heat from the hood vent. I'm probably just not used to it :P Bigger upgrade than my gsr lol

welcome to evo and evom. by black smoke are you talking about out the exhaust? if so than yes, the evo runs rich from the factory. not sure what you mean by extreme temps, but the 4G63 is a very hot running motor. hope this helps, most people on the forum are very knowledgeable, but there are a few who do nothing but flame on everyone who asks question. enjoy the car

The engine temp gauge should be pointing to around the water lines on the gauge.

if its not stuttering or bucking or rough idle there is probably nothing wrong with it.

also it smells after u get done beating on it or driving it hard at all.
