FQ Questions
I have been reading about UK Evo FQ models (300 / 320 / 340 & so on) and have several questions:
1. Are FQ models only offered in the UK?
2. What would an '06 NA Evo be considered (FQ300)?
3. What was the first year of the FQ model?
4. Are the FQ models factory made?
5. Can the FQ badges be purchased?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I, too, have long been facinated with the FQ series - there is even an FQ 500 upgrade for the FQ 400.
The answer to # 4, however, is - No.
The UK FQ cars are not made as FQs in the Mitsu factory. They are bought by UK Mitsu as standard EVOs. UK Mitsu then sends the cars to a speed shop for mods. The cars are ordered through Mitsu dealers.
You might say the the FQ series is very comparable to the BR and FP series of cars on this side of the pond. The only difference being that the BR and FP cars are only offered by individual dealers, and not by USA Mitsu.

The answer to your 4th question is actually "yes, but..."
Ralliart UK preps and retails the Evos. However Rampage, Owen Developments and Flow Race Engines are the three UK tuner shops that modify the engines - or atleast they did for the Evo VIII FQ series. I think that's significant because, while a lot of factory installed Evo parts come from aftermarket tuner shops (Brembo, Enkei, Momo, etc), nobody outside of Mistubishi has ever got under the hood.

I suspected the factory did not offer the FQ model...
Interesting, I need to learn more about RalliArt. If RalliArt is the performance arm of Mitsubishi, why did Mitsubishi offer a NA Ralliart Lancer with no go?
Thank you for both of your replies!

In answer to #3 the 1st year for FQ's was 2002 (the 1st one was registered on 29th April 2002 to be exact) and was an Evo VII FQ300 in Silver. The second one was red and the 3rd was Yellow (if i remember correctly).

I have corrected my mistake. Thanks!
