Yeah I did the z vs evo debate when I was looking for a car and posted on my350z and I must say that a lot of the z owners are very delusional. they all seem to think that a stock z can hang from a roll without a problem when it cant even stick with a stock 8. I raced a supercharged 03 350z and he didnt pull me at all and Im not very modded. We only went from about 15-70 but we were side by side the whole time.<---this was at a closed course we just didnt have enough room to go any further. Needless to say, Im happy with my choice

i dont have one yet. i plan on making a drive to closest mitsu dealership to do a test drive. (2 hours away)
I got a "toy" sitting in the garage that me and my father co-own. 1928 chopped Dodge w/ 392 hemi w/ some mods. rat rod style.
I'm 22yrs old now. I've just gotten to the point where i want something with a warranty, still has some ***** to it to "play with," and is reliable.
Plus i might be building a camaro next. but i just wanna sell the truck and Z and get into 1 vehicle that can be my daily driver, but also a toy when i want it to be.
I've looked at the STI's ALOT and test drove one. impressive, but i HATE the way the body lines run. The rear end of it is sumthing to be desired.
EVO looks alot more crisp. plus i miss the handling of the mr2spyder i had.
The Hemi is my rocket for straight lines, the evo would be nice to go thru the moutain passes with.
but i'll let u know what i think when i test drive one. but all the read ups and reviews and test i've pretty impressed.

go evo

EDIT: and i forgot to mension, i miss the pull on turbos comepared to n/a or s/c

You had a stillen Stg1. Which is weaksause anyway. 300 to the wheels, maybe 310. Some guys are making 285-290 with bolt ons.

I am in no way flamming the evo. Two of my good buddies had evos. Both of them were beast. I love the wau the evo launches(awd) and goes. Scared me somethimes.

I love the way the 350 looks, handles and performs. I just like the challange of making a car fast. I find the evo"easy" throw some bolt-on's on and call it a day IMO. But hey I own a 350Z so 350Z>EVO

j/p guys. See ya around

it sounds like ur 350z has a bit of work done, if u can get a good trade in/privite sale i would go for it. a stock evo prolly wont be on ur Zs level but with a couple of Bolt ons will far surpass ur Z. good luck

You can also look at things this way. Say you meet a girl (assuming your into that sort of thing) girl+you have baby. Evo you can still keep (4 door sedan), Z you sell

i usually dont race from rolls, so the evo would prob be faster from a dig.
Stillen Stage 1 is nothing super impressive. If u wanna make ur Z serious u need to invest in a built engine and greddy TT kit. i want that AWD experience. i've never had it, and it looks hella fun.

The funny thing is that if you get a evo the people that "can/could" hang if they raced you will almost NEVER challange you from a dig cause they know they will loose, and those that do want some arent even worth the effort. So when/if you buy one all you will find is people that want to race you from a roll or at high speeds. The second part to that is.... and I am not suggesting you do, but at the same time not going to tell you how to run your life, but IF you race not on a track a evo is very far from a practicle car for light to light stuff as you MUST launch it at over at least 4800-5000 to not bog otherwise you will get beat off the line by a lot of stuff out there and it will take a long time to catch up.

can you explain that in much simpler terms as i think you are making some very valid points but am not sure what you are ultimately trying to say?

Ok if you have a rwd or fwd car, every tool on the road will want to race you, so if thats your thing then you can prowl for posers and smoke them if your car is fast....

If you have a evo, you will almost never find anyone that will race you from a light..... IF you do find someone willing its usually a stock civic si, or something like that and its a complete waist of time.

secondly evo's suck real bad off the line if you dont launch them fairly hard. The first time I took my car to the track I was on a stock clutch with 34,000 on it so I tried to nurse it off the line at under 4500 and was cutting 2.35-2.62 60' times lol I raced a stock s13 240sx that ended up running a 15.7 and I didnt catch him untill about the 1/8 mile and then I ended up running a 14.2@103.8 lol
