Evo vs Corvette

On my way home today I was followed by a Yellow Vette on 121 through Grapevine.

I was just wondering how does the Evo match up against the Vette.

What vette? C4, C5,C6 , stingray? modded vette, moddded Evo? what Evo? Evo 5 or Evo 9? If you think that by just saying a yellow vette is enough then I am afraid there is no answers for you.

You just can't open a topic like that bro. This issues can be addressed in a trillion ways.

I have an 06 IX Evo as stated in my profile. For the sake of comparison let's assume a same year IX as unfortunately I wasn't in the position to go and grill the owner as to what C he has.

Also let's assume stock for stock.

From a roll the C6 vette should take you. From a dig your Evo should have a slight advantage.

You will smoke that zo6 off the line, from a roll and everything in between. I drive my friends 03 zo6 every now and then and when i get into my evo the vett felt slow. You have nothing to worry about. I,d bet my house on it, especially with your mods.I test drove an 03 vette (ZO6) just for the hell of it when i had my modded 03 8.(320whp).The vette had a dealer installed magnaflow cat back. The salesman was a young guy and let me run the car hard. I swear to you when i got back into my evo to leave, again the vette felt like a pig compared to the evo. A modded Evo of course. The evo being stock is a different story.

Stock C5 Z06 traps around 115mph IIRC. 405 hp and about 3000 lbs. So roughly 4:3 power:weight. Since the Evo weighs ~3200 lbs, you'd need about 430 crank hp. Once past 100mph or so though.... if you have the same power:weight as the vette, it will pull you because it has much better aero.
