Noob question: Smoke under hard accel

I have an Evo IX that smokes under hard accleration. Dealer says that it's normal, but I have very little faith in the dealer. Car is all stock with 6500 miles on it. There is no smoke under normal driving.

Thanks,
Chris

I want to say white, but it's more of a dirty white.

Don't most turbo charged cars smoke a little under hard excelleration! I know the STI's will even eat oil, Friends had to always add oil!

I first noticed it when it started getting cold out.

well if it only happens when its cold out then thats normal but only to a certain extent... unless white smoke is literally pouring out at all time even after your car is warmed up then i would get that checked out by another dealer and as far as the smell goes its just all your exhaust parts and gaskets burning off its coating so your straight...

Yeah, as long as you can still see the cars behind you I would say that it's just the normal smoking.

Its NORMAL...no ifs and or buts. It runs rich from the factory, thats why there are CF bumper protectors. The dealer is right

The amount of smoke your talking about is probably nothing compared to mine. A buddy was behind me the other day when I got on it in 3rd gear. He said I sh't all over him. Then again, I have a few more mods then you.

From what I've heard it's normal as long as it's not blue or white...

got an Evo IX as well with ~6300 miles it should be normal. mine warms up like that. Also, during hard acceleration, a black cloud of death comes out the exhaust pipe. P.S. my rear bumper on the exhaust side is permanently black
