Just bought a 03' Evo

I just bought a 03 Blue for you Evo with 42k miles. I was wondering what you reccomend as first mods. I was thinking a tubo-back exhaust, but understand in order to get the best power gains, i must get my ecu tuned for it. What kind of gains would i expect with just a tubo back exhaust, and what is the best sounding and best performing?

What other mods do you reccommend?

What is the purpose of a boost controller if you technically cant run more boost then your ecu is tuned for without risk of damage?

Well, you purchase the part first i believe, then you get your car tuned accordingly.

If you are a ballin' on a budget like myself you can do the following for a cheap bit of power: 1.)Buy a turbo back exhaust from SSAutochrome on eBay. I got mine for $245 shipped. Fit great and sounds great. 3" all the way through. People on here will bash you for it, but for the money it can't be beat. 2.) Get an e-flash by one of the reputable tuners on here jestr tuning, Dynoflash, etc...

You would be looking at around $400 at the most for both the TBE and the e-flash. But also search.

welcome to the club.

First and foremost - SEARCH. That'll get pounded into your head more times then you care. Be sure to check out the Evo newbie/FAQ fourm. I've been a member of this board for a long time but i still check out some of the newbie stuff to make sure a question that i'm about to ask hasn't been answered before.

Have fun and enjoy your evo - i know i'll be enjoying mine when i get back from the middle east this fall.
