Evolved from 93 rx7 twin turbo to 2003 Evo

I've had a soft spot for RX7's after driving a friends stock FD back in 2000. To me, they're just so exotic and super-sexy that it's worth whatever pain comes along as baggage. While yes, the evo is the practical choice (relatively of course), it just doesn't thrill as much as a 7 would.
Lets face it, our passion for cars is illogical and irrational. No human needs the kind of grip and power that these cars offer for any practical purpose. I'm thinking that when I return to the states, I'll likely embrace the dark side and get a little stupid. There's nobody to tell me I can't have both an RX7 and an Evo, so I may just get really ignorant and make the mistake of having two modified cars like when I still had my GSX. I think the RWD, AWD platforms are dissimilar enough to earn their respective garage spots.
SCC has a ten stage build up in their online articles that is also worth a read. I'm sure if I read their buildup story again I'd drop everything and start my search for a new car now.
Have you ever driven a LS1 or LS2 FD? I would be more interested in that route than the twin vs single turbo options.

hey guys, i have heard from many about the cult status of the rx-7, can you please elaborate as to why they are considered so exotic, what is it about their performance that is so good?

144 mph - I've never had a chance to ride on the ls1/ls2 rx7, but I haven't heard of anyone who regrets the swap or wanting to go back to rotary after going to the “dark side”.
It's not something people can show in numbers. Owning rx7 is like being with a hot sexy exotic girl that is well over your level. You will be fulfilled in everyway possible, but deep inside you will always fear of being dumped and have your heart bashed into pieces.
Owning the evo makes is like being with a cute goody girl who can give you what you really need. She’ll make you feel safe and secure.
Evo is well built, looks good, and performs good, but it lacks in beauty, thrill, passion, etc etc... but I'd say that’s because Evo is a rally car not a sports car.

thanks. I've contacted him. It sucks that I've already ordered a red mitsubishi emblem for the rear...I could of got the silver stock emblem (mine was missing in the back) and placed the overlays.
