Evolved from 93 rx7 twin turbo to 2003 Evo
Hey guys, I've just evolved from 93 rx7 to 03 evo. I sold my rx7 and bought evo, because I just got tired of worrying about my rx7 breaking down every time I drove. The evo does not give me that same feeling of a pure sports car like the rx7 did, but at this point in my life I had to take reliability and practicability before anything. When I owned the rx7, I had to have a 2nd car (rav4) to do my daily errands but that required an additional parkng space, maintenace, and insurance so, I decided to go for evo and sell my rav4 and rx7.
I’ve owned the evo for a week now and I have been enjoying the car every min! I have no doubt about my decision. Considering the reliability, practicability, and the expense/cost of ownership…I’d have to say, rav4 + rx7 < evo.

Thanks. Current mods are lowering springs, turbo timer, intake, bov, catback, and CF hood. I'm planning to have the ecu flashed by works. I'm not planning to mod the car much since this car is going to be my DD car...but who knows, because that's what I said when I first bought the rx7.

Thanks guys. I sold the rx7 privately, and bought this evo from another private owner. I've forgot what kind of bov my evo have, as the previous owner had that installed. It is VTA and I remember him telling me that there is a little divice by the ecu to prevent the car from stalling between shifts because of the aftermarket bov...? I'm located by SF.

If its vented then its robbing you and you should get rid of it as it will only cause you problems. If you just want to hear the noise then get a IX bov and cut the top of your stock air box off.
Spending more time in a garage than being in the car.

This is what I told to this other forum member that asked me about the fd...
owning a rx7 is like being with a hot sexy exsotic girl that is well over your level. You will be fulfilled in everyway possible, but deep inside of your mind you will always fear of being dumped and have your heart bashed into peices.
Owning the evo makes me feel safe and secure. It's well built, looks good, and performs good, but it lacks in beauty, thrill, passion, etc etc...well, I shouldn't be asking for those thing since that is something pure sports car can offer.
i know this isn't what you were exactly asking for, but rx7 is something that can't be compared in numbers. If you can afford to own a high maint cost car, I'd say you should go test drive "few" rx7 and find out yourself. I'd recomend you to drive both, rx7 that's been modded with a single tubo (t-78 or something) and the rx7 with stock twin turbo. Those single rx7s have heaven to hell eifference compared to regular rx7 twin turbo.
