pricing will determine demand. If they keep the pricing in the very-low-30's, car will probably sell real well. if it heads north of 40k(like I think it will), car will sell to a few diehards initially, but will sit after that.

skyline is one of the much-anticipated cars of the last few years. latest rumors have the price north of 60k. that takes it out of the hands of most that would drive it.
everyone remember what happened to the 3rd gen rx-7, 3000gt/stealth, supra, 300zx.....

Not a penny over MSRP can be very attractive for a BRAND NEW car that just hit the market.
Especially to someone who does not plan to mod.
That and the first road test of the car will fuel demand as well. I don't think the price will spike as high as everyone thinks either.

Not crazy if you really want to get the car as soon as possible and money is not a problem, but I would expect dealer mark ups. I remember when the RX-8 first came out, my buddy wanted one bad, but they literally wanted $40,000 for the car. Just imagine if he would have bought it, the car is probably worth around $18,000 now, and he'd still owe like $30,000.

I think in general, the biggest drawback in putting that money down, is simply that you show too much of an interest in the vehicle that they know very well you are a sucker deal. They don't need to come down in price since they know you are simply that determined to get the car. Expect to pay much higher than normal if you simply walked in when they are release and you seem less interested.

i doubt at first the Evo X will go for MSRP, i'm sure the first batch will have a "market adjustment" of at least $5k.

maybe you are right... personally the evo 8 is probably the last mitsubishi i'll ever get, i don't care if they make a car that puts down 1000hp and only costs $10k.

when I got my EVO I signed all the paper work, gave my deposit, called the insurance company then I test drove it, I remember the salesman saying you dont want to test drive, I said NO.

I think I made a good decision with my EVO MR.
