Basic Upgrade Path?
uhm... says you drive an srt4... i do believe your upgrade path is as follows
1 stickers
2 tint
3 loud annoying exhaust
4 a big wing to keep your back end down (wtf you drive a fwd)
5 race an evo (from a roll only)
6 realize you need more stickers
7 finally see the fact that fwd cars suck and get something better

then you must be the one and only srt owner that never does that then i swear srt-4 owners ride your ***, constantly rev there VTA BOV at you, and go nuts when they see a evo even if they were in the mcdonalds parking lot and your driving by they well hope in there car and try and chase you down to race you from a roll
, come on your prob 16 just got a srt-4 and you think its the fastest car that was ever made.........but to answer your question just get the warralton/buschur stage one or TBE,MBC,FLASH,etc.

you guys have it out for SRTs dont you?
I installed all of my own parts and street tuned it, ran a hp pull at a local dyno shop
I should of rephrased that, I know that SRT has a lot of simple things that need to be done and my ECU does not control my boost
Catch cans are great for SRTs because of the oil build up
Check valves are often a great investment and so is a spark plug regapping when you up the boost
Im 19 years old and I work for my father I a car lot, srt-4 isnt my first car
I learned how to drive on a 98 pontiac grand prix and moved on to a v6 mustang
after the mustang I drove a jetta vr-6 for a short while and moved on to an rx-8
got tired and moved to a 350z, two seats werent enough for me so I found a nice srt-4
i still own my srt-4 and I have an evo here I am considering switching it up to.
I have OWNED all these cars, I sell them for a bit more then I paid for them and worked my way up the ladder
Ya srt-4s are fast, and im tired of driving in a straight line, I want an AWD car.
What I was asking and I guess I should have asked more directly was the flaws the car has stock
IE - SRT-4s need motor mounts if they are going to track it because of fwd wheel hop
SRT-4s have horrible vacuum lines stock and rerouting them can improve boost stability
I also see that the evo 8s suggest a fuel pump but not the 9s on most upgrades, do the 9s come with an improve stock pump?
Do evos NEED a catch can? Is it agood idea?
I see that the EVOs require alot of flashing after most installs, ie intake cams, should I grab the majority of the bolt ons and then get a tuned ecu or should I tune it over and over as I go?
How is fuel delivery? Do I need a new FPR kit? Do I need a map clamp/safc? Do evos run rich? SRT-4s run pig rich

ah ha. so your wanting to know the flaws of an evo before purchasing? that would be a much more welcomed thing. main flaws on an evo9se are as follows
low torque in low rpm
****ty stock stereo system
dealers try and screw you on price.
that is all
OH also i almost forgot.. if you drive like a twit or do much modding youll need a better clutch... evo stock clutch = teh weak

also done some searching and info was very vague, can I buy a plug for my laptop that connects to the ECU and tune it myself with software? The car im looking at also has an AVC-R boost controller
the plug you're referring to is called a Tactrix cable (costs around $89 online); connects your laptop to your car's ECU. The program used to tune the car using this cable is called ECUflash (downloaded free online). You can search under these terms to read up on this, or pay a tuner about $50 to send you a baseline flash to your email account to be downloaded to your car's ECU. Good luck...
