Need a little help here
I have had my Evo for right at 2 months. It is a 2004 with 17,200 miles. The car has been running steadily at 20 psi of boost. I have a Buschur Racing stage 1 on the car. I recently went out of town and had to leave the car at the airport and we had very bad weather. Here is the problem, after driving the car (i had just filled up after leaving the airport) the car was at normal operating temp i get on it a little bit and i notice it is only boosting to about 13 psi and as soon as it builds pressure it starts bleeding of almost immediatly. i haven't had time to look under the car but i noticed today that at 3500 rpm at a constant drive i can hear a slight rattling sound. I finally have my dream car but i don't really know where to begin. This is my first turbo car so any help would be great. Oh and a side note the Oil was just changed @ 17,000 miles...
Please help if you can.
Thanks,
Steve

You need to get in the engine bay and check all your IC connections first. If there's nothing noticable, then do a boost leak test (http://vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html).

OK i did a little looking around this weekend and i have come to a couple of conclusions... i am hearing a little rattling or jingling noice between 3kand 3500 rpms and that is it... i checked all fmic connections they are all connected so i think it is either a cracked ic line or the bov is not opening or closing completely... because even when it gets up to 15 psi it sounds like it is bleeding right away and boost is drooping... when i had the hood open and the car at operating temp i was rev'ing the engine and once pressure starting building it sounded like bov opening immediately... i got the wooshing sound thru the intake....

I have the same issue on a car I just purchased, no boost gauge just a AVC-R showing about .77-.88 boost, but a real whooshy sound
Not my first turbo car and im thinking boost leak, car doesnt pull like it should, I know nothing about the AVC either, highest rev I have hit was 7700, so Im assumings its been flashed.

ok couple of updates but still looking for a little guidance.... the boost readings are off cause the boost gauge is broke... before starting the car gauge reads -5 on vacuum... i unhooked the battery and reset everything and car is running better... so i have 2 things i am still looking at fixing, i still think i might have a boost leak so if someone could give me a link for that i would be very greatful... the other thing i still can't figure out is the jingling sound i get from 3k to 4k rpms under light acceleration.....
thanks in advance...

he gave u a link ...
What are your AVC-R settings? Check your AVC-R settings first. If this isn't it, then it should be a boost leak. Those lines sometimes crack up and go bad. How long was the car sitting at the airport?
