Wow it sound like that guy to know how to hook up his car, sounds promising. Go test drive the two and see what you like first, With all that mods and most of them are very good and useful. nothing major i would go with the Evo8 but if you wat to do everything yourself and a slightly newer cars then go with the EvoIXse.
I like his suspension setup ... mmmMmmmm Tasty. Good luck on your choice.

IX se, newer car, negligable price, virgin as far as mods go. Most everything except 1 of the cams (due to mivec) fits the IX. Now IX cams are available so everything that is available for an VIII is available for a IX.

The new IX can make the power levels that you listed with just a TBE, drop in, boost controller and a good custom tune.

Try searching "project IX" or "IX project"

If you have your mind set on the VIII then go ahead and get it. The IX's have more potential and a new one will have no miles on it which = no abuse. It does have alot of mods on it but that's not necessarily a good thing. Modded cars normally value less than stock cars.

man u have it wrong,
i said i looked at the car and for the same price the evo 8 was a way better deal
the evo9 looked like it had some weather damage and the se seats where in not the best shape they are the same price and the 06 had 1000 more miles on it.

i was looking for used not new and they were the only ones around for the price i wanted and miles.
if i wanted a new one i get a new one,
so next time you try to be a smart *** read the whole post first..

ooo big words. Name calling, how special you are... Yes i read every horribly long run-on sentence you wrote. I was not being a "smartass" i was simply saying that you asked people for their opinions and then ignored them. Did i say "oh wow this idiot made a mistake?" no i did not. So why dont you take your own advice and read what i said before resorting to name calling? Despite your crummy attitude i wish you the best of luck with your evo8. I dont understand why you didnt spend 2k more and buy a brand new off the showroom floor ixse from southcoast but to each their own. enjoy your used, modded and worth a lot less than what you paid for it evo.

as for name calling iam sorry to if you took it that way but my reply is if from what i read on urs, and when someone does the haha **** after a reply i take that as a insult.
and i didnt ignore what other guys were saying they said go look at the car and i did that,
the stock one was over 50 miles away from me and the evo8 was like4.
and the evo8 was in 10 times better shape.
as for pricing your wrong what i payed for ther evo in the end was almost 6thous less then a stock new one.
