My 5th gear syncro has been bad for some time. Mitsu says they don't see a problem with it and refuses to replace it, even though I've had them check it twice now. I will eventually rebuild as well, and I just have to delay my shift into 5th for a fraction of a second to avoid grinding. It sucks, but I can live with it.
The problem with ever getting the 5th gear syncros replaced under warrenty becuase of grinding, actually the same problem I had with getting my 4th replaced is, there not going to take you in your car to a highway and redline it in 4th and then slam it to 5th, just to see your grind. They wouldnt even do it in 4th for me. I told them to suck a dick and sent it to shepard racing.
