Tinting question..
i got 5% all way around with a 2 inch lower eye brow on the windshield... i have no trouble driving at night but i think i'm just used to it from past vehicles... i think it adds aesthically to the tarmac black for sure, keeps people from lookin inside to see what to steal and staring while driving around, also it's suppose to keep more heat rays from the interior. got lifetime warranty on the install, couldn't ask for more... just my .02
35% is the legal tint percent in washington state, but then again, depending on what part of washington will determine if you get pulled over or not. I live in seattle..when a cop see's a big wing, loud exhaust and dark windows, they get ticket happy. I would love to get 20% and not get harrassed.
I have 20% 3M all around on my WW IX MR and it looks way good I am going to try and get some picks soon. I had mine done around the end of November and I live in Utah and everything was fine with the cold weather. They just told me not to roll down my windows for like 2 days.

cause there should be 3M LOGO on the tint film itself. so u know what u got.
and 3M color stable series is really expensive stuff. but i have one for myself on my evo.
90% most shop would say we use 3M . BUT they are not.
with the 3M TINT expect to pay $250 and up
are u sure u got 3m tint?

Ya I know it's 3M because it does have the logo on the tint, it's upside on mine lol. And you are right it is pretty pricey stuff but the place that did my audio setup get's you a deal if you mention it at the place I got my tint done so I got it all around for like $180.

A) It does not matter how cold it is outside. You can still get your windows tinted as long as the person doing it isn't doing it outside. However, I have no idea why anyone would hire an outdoor window tinter... You're almost begging for debris in your tint. Like I said, there are shops up north that are tinting cars in 10 degree weather with no problems.
B) It doesn't matter if it's raining. Again, it typically will be done in a shop out of the elements anyway. What matters at that point is how well the tinter keeps up their shop.
C) Do not wash your car. You will be utterly disappointed afterwards. The reason for this is because you will have soap streaks all down the side of your car from where the window tinted sprayed the outside of your windows to cut the film pattern. Yes, the film is hung on the inside of the window, but we use the outside of the window to cut a pattern and we have to wet the window with a soapy solution to do so. If your car is all nice a clean, you'll just have to wash it again to get the soapy streaks off. Plus, let me add that tinters such as myself that do back windows in 1 piece, will "dry shrink" the back window. This involves using baby powder to powder the back window and shrink the window film to mold to the curvature of the window. Baby powder may be on your car... better to wash it after the fact because of this. Most tinters will NOT wipe down your car because they don't want to scratch it.
It doesn't matter if the outside of your car is completely dirty. The film is not applied to the outside of the car. The only thing a really dirty outside of a car does to a tinter is make them kinda mad because when they lean over it, their clothes get dirty.
However, DO clean the inside of the car. The cleaner the inside of the car, the better the job.

I'd recommend either LLumar or FormulaOne. SunTek is a new film company and they have some great films out.
If you're going to use FormulaOne and you have money to spend, ask for their Pinnacle series... It's a full ceramic film. However, this runs about $450 a car. Ceramic is expensive. However, it's the best. If you don't have that much money, ask for the Ultimate series. A sputtered metal film that's not as reflective.
If you're going to use LLumar ask for the ATX series.
SunTek, ask for their Carbon series.
All of those films are color stable films since they don't use dye and all have a lifetime warranty against cracking, peeling, bubbling and fading.
