insurance. how much are you paying?

hey guys i have been looking online at how much insurance will be on an evo but im not getting any good results. Im 18 and i plan on financing an evo at the end of the summer, but i want to know if im gonna be able to afford it. The car would probably be under my dads name so it would be his vehicle on the insuance, hes like 50 or so. It would be really helpful if you guys could post and tell me your age, monthly rates and stuff like that, cuz im really excited to get one but i want to know if its even possible. thanks in advance guys.

I dunno how or why, but I'm only $620 every 6 months....I'm primary on the car, I have full coverage, OEM parts coverage, and that was even witha minor speeding ticket. Long story short, I don't ask . I'm even younger than you .

i'm in the same position as you, my dad is 50 also (no accidents on his record at all) and i'm 18. With finance and full coverage under your dads name, you can estimate the monthly payment to be around $150+, maybe $150 - $250 a month. This isn't a totally accurate estimate since state rates range a lot (Florida and Cali being one of the higher tier insurance prices).

Ok, my last car 2004 gto.. i was paying about $1,200 for 6 months. Im 22 been driving since 18.. i have no tickets or crashes. when i got the Evo. same insurance company, and coverage they wanted $1,700 for 6 months.

*****es.

so i shopped around and shopped around for almost a month..

i have the same coverage and am now paying $1,201 for 12 months.. not 6 so that makes it. $600.60 compared to $1700 for six months.

and my deductable is $500 now not $1000

I am 28 with good driving record-no accidents, been with SF since I turned 16. State farm quoted me around $80/mo. when talking about buying an evo. After buying it and giving the VIN#, now its $113/mo!!! That was with 0 comp and 100 collision deductable. Changed it to 250/500 ded. and went to $96/mo.! I told them I am going elsewhere!

Went to american family insurance. With my evo, wifes 00 grand cherokee and home owners insurance, evo is 66/month, jeep goes from 72 down to 47 per month, but my homeowners going up $80 per YEAR. You do the math!!

American family insurance FTW!!!

I'm paying about $180 per month for full coverage through AIS or Mercury. I did check out some other places like All State and AAA, but they were asking for $290ish per month, but they're coverage was better and a lower deductable. This is with a good driving record and I'm 28, so it's suppose to go down when you're older. Good luck finding a cheaper rate.
