why does it take so many pounds to make power... is AWD the problem?

i had a b18c dohc vtec honda and lets say i am using a gt35r with 25 psi.... making 450 hp. estimate.

now, an evo 9 mi-vec will be using a gt35r BUT.... it usuallly takes him 35+ pounds to make the same power. *estamite*

so the question is why is this? does drivetrain really such a loss?......... im curious and i know might have been discussed before but id' like to hear some views.

Search, someone posted this exact same thread a month ago. It blew up too, and there is tons of good info in it.

Oh and btw, a gt35r Evo running 35+ psi will make 600+ whp. 35r Evo's make 450 on pump and 21-24 psi...

2 main reasons.
Drivetrain loss
Lower compression of the evo vs the civic.
