Stock brake pad price.

Yes, I know there are a million posts on brakes and pads, I figured, 'how bad could the price be?' 218 for a set of front brake pads??? Are they gold?

Car has 23k and the brakes are squeeking - I figured I'd just change the pads to be safe. I was going to go with stock, but for $400 + I'm not so sure. I'd prefer to stay stock as on my last evo the dealer tried to deny my warranty on brakes on my completely stock car and I figured if I had aftermarket pads they would certainly deny me.

Should I spring for stock or just go for a set of aftermarket for half the price? It's a street car btw.

You can get better pads for much less money than the stock pads. Stock pads and rotors work ok, but they're a joke to replace.

Stock pads still squeak as well... especially in the cold.

Be sure to use copper anti-seize. I had bad squeaks b4 I changed pads. Used the copper and a set of hawk pads and you will be happy

for sure lube the contact points on the BACK of the pads where the pistons/caliper contact the pad.
