1/2 - 1 crank, mini batt's lose cranking power over time, and can damage the flywheel. good luck

That's normal for AEM EMS equipped car especially during cold day.

My friend has an EVO with a AEM EMS and it takes him a few cranks to start it. I guess it is normal for a mini battery and AEM EMS car.

Aem EMS primes the fuel system before starting so yes its normal.

+1. As soon as I saw this thread I searched for "EMS" and sure enough this car has one. One of the issues of the EMS.

My car does the opposite, it starts up so easily and adruptly. It started doing it when i added the larger injectors; takes 1/2 maybe 1 turn.

a buddy of mine had an AEM on his old evo and it took like 3-5 SECONDS for the engine to turn over. i remember him saying how the aem does some sort of system check before it allows the engine to actually start up...dont take this as scripture tho...heavily modded evos are a gamble to buy even if ur friends with the prior owner

Tottaly normal...same with my car....it cranks late but it always does...not a problem...I would take the extra cranks for the power delivery and smooth curve that I get with AEM EMS.
