first starting car

I just bought a evo IX, and I was wondering if its normal when you first start for your rpm to jump to about 2 grand and after warming up it drops to 1 grand. If not what is worng with the car.

it is normal.... mine actually starts off like around 1.5k..... it just needs to warm up

normal while car is warming up... Have fun with your new IX!

I always let my car warm up for about 3 minutes before driving, especially during the winters here.

Man, I really need to get a remote starter installed.

yeah some times mine freaks and will jump to 3k before settling to the warm up of about 1.5k. something to do with my flash or the elevation here i'm sure. dosen't really bother me.
