Just removed my wing, took about 10 minutes, and looks a HELL of a lot better IMO.. Also way better visibility when driving and a more mature look IMO. You will also get way less attention from cops.

Now I'm just thinking of getting some circle black stickers to cover up the holes.. maybe OSH? would CF tape look better?

vinyl overlays. get them at your local sign store.

when you put the wing back on, do you guys reuse the factory double sided tape? or use some 3m stuff?

I cannot remove the wing from my 08 GTS. It looks to me very well glued, the fishing line didn't help at all. I'll try again at midday/sunlight.

If you have any other tips/ideas ... please let me know.

ps: Hello you all!! (first post)

Just yank it off,...the wing that is. You are right, it is very well glued so it does not fly off! Give it a good pull,...again, the wing that is and you will be fine. The heat will make it easier, but probably not neccesary.

PS - I learned the hard way with my last Evo and did it right,... I just bought a RS trunk lid, had it shaved, and now I'm flossin it right son! Better yet, I have a spare lid with wing intact in case I want to be gay without getting railed in the a$$.

When I removed my wing on my VIII, there was a large amount of rust under the laft corner of the wing. Mitsubishi covered it, but the shop expereince was a nightmare. It is almost impossible to find a good shop anymore. If you need a good one on the greater D.C. area, let me know.

How to remove wing on 08 Mitsubichi Lancer GTS

Job done . Thanks vetboss, and thanks to you all !

As I don't like use brute force, I used some 3D Adhesive Remover (WalMart) in addition to the fishing line and my wife . To cover the holes I used some clear tape (a thick one), I want to be able to put back the wing if needed. Still I coudn't remove the two black plastic things, any ideas on that ?

The car looks little bit more mature now, IMHO. It will look even better with tinted windows.
