Quote: Sand it down
wipe with damp rag
Use Krylon Fusion for plastics, semi flat black.
Hit with Krylon Matte Finish for a durable clear.
Thats what i did, and it came out looking good.
That's exactly what I did.

Well, the chrome emblem DOES come out of the black piece, but it's a fight to get it out and you're probably going to break it trying to get it out. The adhesive they used to put it on is tacky as heck and since the emblem is very thin where the 3 diamonds meet, it is likely to crack if you are prying on 1 diamond at a time. Some have suggested that heat might loosen up the adhesive, but I didn't try that. I ended up masking off the front of my car with Hefty bags so that only the emblem was exposed and applying several coats of paint & clearcoat during a sunny (but cool) day.

You can also take the emblem off the front of the car, as it's only 1 screw holding it on, but you have to open the hood & pull the plastic push-plugs out so you can wedge your arm between the thin space to get in there, and then it's a contortionists wet dream trying to unscrew it with your hand wrenched up like a dying sock puppet. But that works, too. I'd just mask the front of the car & shoot it, but that's my take on things...
