Headlights different colors

I have an 03 Evo with HID, my passenger side HID bulb is an purple color when turned on and after about 20 mins. it goes out, i figured when it gets to hot it goes out, not sure though why, my driver side is just fine,

question is, is it just that i need a new bulb or is the ballast going out on me

thanks for the help

so far i have installed HID on all my car and i would have to say 80% of the times that happen for me is the ballast not the bulb. Bulb are hardly a problem. I think it might be the ballast.

^ +1, it's the same on aftermarket ones, it's usually a ballast problem..not enough current getting there or something from the ballast...imo

i would say 100 a pop. but with. Usually its better if you just both a whole new set, that would save you a lot of money rather then just get like one ballast. but it should also come warranty went you first buy it. Most of mine i warrantied and i just tell them it doesnt work so they just swapped a new one for me.

+1 for ballast. Or HID kit, but not the bulb.

My friend with an STi had same problem. He had water gather up in his comp , dried it out, selaed it, no more probs
