What about HID Kits for non-ssl IX EVOs?
I think most kits plug right into your OEM light harness but some better kits come with a harness with upgraded fuses and relays to ensure you do not draw a higher current from your stock harness than it was designed to provide. I emailed hidexpert.com and they said it's plug and play but it doesn't come with a new harness with upgraded fuses and relays.
9006 bulbs are 55W and most HIDs are 35W.
Even the new ones a only 50W. I've never heard of anyone changing their stock wiring and harness when using a good HID kit.
I guess you could play it reaaally safe

I am looking at getting the D4s kit for my main beams, I like this set up as it has proper ballasts and phillips bulbs on the hid dips it has a 20A fuse so i think i will make up a seperate harness with a relay to protect my wiring etc, as on the mains it only has a 10A fuse.. on the start up with hid it will draw more than 10A so it's good practise i think to do this, the light output should be amazing
has anyone tried the hid on the mains? I wouldn't flash my mains during the day with this set up, I thought maybe to have my foglight swicthed to the on position then just flick my sidelights on to do this? I have the HIR bulbs in my mains now but have to say they are bright but not much brighter than the PIAA factory upgrade that came with the car..
