Question Exhausts :: Your Input Please

I am about to purchase either a TBE or CBE and I need some input as to which I should go with.

These are the three I'm considering:
  • Buschur Racing 3" TBE w/Bullet Muffler & Test Pipe
  • Espelir JGT500 CBE
  • GReddy Racing Ti-C CBE

I am also about to install my JDM IX bumper so if I go with the BR setup, they will trim it down to fit; however, I will not be able to use a HFC. I will be running thier test pipe instead.

I like the fact that both the Ti-C and JGT500 come with baffles and I'm concerned that the BR TBE will be too loud.

I guess my goal here is to have a great fitting setup with my new IX rear as well as having a system that won't attract too much attention from the cops or sound like a Yuban fartcan.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Both Buschur Bullet Muffler and Greddy Ti would be fairly loud.
If you are concern about not attacting unwanted attention, I wouldn't recommend either one of those.
I believe both Espelir and Buschur require modification to make it fit with JDM bumper, not that that is a big deal.
How about any one of exhausts featured here.

I just had my Perrin CBE modified to fit the JDM bumper recently.
But, I'm planning on going either RM-01A or Tanabe Concept G Blue.
Both should provide quite exhaust sound with JDM bumper fitment.
Hope this helps .

get whichever one you think will sound better to you with your ultimate goals in mind. there is a huge difference in both power and sound when you compare TBE with decat and catback, so you need to decide what you wan to do with the car.

For example, I have HKS silent. If you were put this exhaust as cat back, it would be very quiet. when you go full turbo back, it gets considerably louder. when you add cams, it gets even louder. (when I added cams was the first time my wife said that it was loud).

I am now in the process of putting in an exhaust manifold, and I am sure it will be slightly louder after that

I don't think you could go wrong with the buschur or the espelir. The buschur would make more power since its a turbo back, but overall it just depends on what goals you have for your car.

I really do love the idea of a full TBE. Does anybody know off-hand the difference in dB's of a catless BR TBE over one with a HFC?

The mod to follow the exhaust would be Vishnu's Evo IX Stage Subzero (v380).

Buschur TBE!! Fitment is awesome, makes some of the highest HP and TQ gains out of any TBE, lightweight, fits your JDM IX bumper (just gotta let them know) and over all is a nice piece to have on an EVO!

do they actually have an application for the Evo or you have to get the muffler and do it custom?

I've got the HKS HiPower and it sound great. Nice deep hum while driving, not loud at all. Then when you go wide open throttle, WOW. lol.

I have full TBE though. XS power Down pipe and test pipe
