Would this be a good deal?

I'm hopeing to get in the Evo game and this is the only way I could afford to do it. It has a salvage title and the air bags are out. From what I can tell the frame is straight but I havent taken any measurements. Looking around on the internet it would be about $2,000 to fix. do you think its worth it?

i think that would cost a lot more than 2k to fix. i got rear ended. the only damage was to the bumper cover and bumper braces. no rear crash beam, no frame, no rear quarters, no trunk. bumper cover and braces only. that was 3K.

this car is really bashed up. on both sides none the less.

I wouldn't go it, the car will never be the same again. BTW thats gonna be way more then $2000. It should be $2000 for the left side alone.

Yeah, $2000 to fix. Don't do it man, even if you want an Evo that badly, it isn't worth it in the end. Random problems could always arise after fixing it.

That thing would need some time on a frame machine. Looks like the side pillar is bent, that is bad.

How was it 3k? did you have the work done for you? I looked on ebay and rockauto.com and some other places I just couldn't find the driver side door and glass anywhere. I will be doing all the work myself and I can get a really good deal on paint. Will you ever be able to insure a vehicle with a salvage title?

No, the pillar's not bent it just looks that way cuz the fender is pushed down and the hoods pushed up. I'm going there monday to get it up in the air and take a better look at it. They certify that the frame is straight but I dont see why it would have a salvage tittle tho? Just because the airbags deployed?

I had the time to go check it out today. Got it up in the air and everything is still straight, driveshafts are fine, innercooler is still good, no metal shavings in oil. I drove it to the shop and turned fine and there was no vibrations up to 45mph. (because the rim is bent) that was only 200 yards tho. Worst case scenario, would I be able to part it out and make my money back? Its $6,500

i think u should be able to at least get your initial investment back by parting everything out. if i had the time, patients, and 6500 lying around, id do it

No way the frame is straight. A unibody car absorbs an impact like a shockwave, so even a minor impact can damage the frame. I am sure that car needs frame work. Check for apron damage and core support damage. Looks like a possible bent b-pillar too. I would walk away. What is the asking price for the car? I hope its cheap, even when repaired the car will not be worth much. I buy cars for a living, and the general rule for salvage cars is half of rough book in the black book....
