walbro fuel pump install newb ??

Was just wondering if you need the install kit or if you dont need it for the fuel pump? Reason I asked is I read you dont really need the install kit and I ordered the pump without it.

Why not while you have the pump out,you have an 03, i say it won't hurt to put a new screen on it.

I just popped my 255 Walbro in & called it a day. The fuel pump is pretty simple, its just a swap. I wouldn't get the kit unless your current filter looks like ***.

I just did mine this weekend and you don't need the install kit. Although like the last guy said, maybe you should get a new "teabag" to put on it since you have an 03.

its better that you use the install it or the fuel pump becomes lose over time
there is a rubber fiiting below it when using the oem rubber fitting with walbro fuel pump the pump dosent have a nice fitting and it may come lose over time so better buy it.
the first time i did mine i didnt use it and the fuel pump was really noisy so i decided to buy the kit and to check it again cause of the noise it made.
i used the new rubber fitting and to my surprise the noise was gone.
there is a post somewhere in the dynoflash forums where al explains this problems and dont overtihten the bolts on the pump i broked one headstud doing this
hope this helps you
