plug & play s-afc2 = no warranty?

My plans are to have the warranty for a long time, so my mods will be minimal for the first couple years(cat-back & filter). I have a left over s-afc2 from one of my DSMs and I know that Boomslang make a plug and play harness for the IX. Instead of re-flashing my ECU, can I just tune with the AFC and then when I need warranty work remove it, or will they somehow know that I tuned from scanning the ECU? In other words will the ECU somehow know that it is somehow getting false AF signals?

Nobody told you the warranty was void the minute it left the lot? hahaha

Anyway the best way to mod the ECU is with a flash from one of the many vendors on here. Look into a tactrix cable and openecu!

Potentially any modification that you do could end up denying you warranty work. The warranty is added to the car to prevent the car from having defects while still in the form that it is built by and tuned by Satan, while being operated in a manner that is not deemed as abuse. If you modify these parameters, your warranty probably will not cover any damage that could occur.

Doing modifications that are easily reversible such as plug and play add-ons should be thought about carefully. If damage occurs to your car after you modify, can you honestly take the car in and essentially lie to them saying it is and always has been 100% stock? It's more a question of ethics to me. When I modify, I consider it to be taking my warranty and throwing it out the window. You have to pay to play.
