My modding dilemma
My modding dilemma
Ok I need some advice on modding. I don't consider this a noob question so I'm posting it in general. I have a an 03 evo that I bought used about a year ago. It was previously modded then brought back to stock by the original owner. I have since installed UICP, LICP, HKS intake, HKS DLI II, Walbro fuel pump, MBC, and Tanabe concept G TBE. It was dynoflashed by AL before the TBE so I want to get it properly dyno tuned but before I drop the $$$ on a tune I want to get a another mod in. Right now it's either 272 cams or Alcohol injection. I just need some feeback I'm beating my head against a wall trying to decide. One day it's meth the next it's cams. I do have another option altogether that has entered my thoughts as of today. I have a rattling throw-out bearing. An ACT street clutch was installed about 20,000 miles ago and the bearing is shot, it rattles and pisses me off. Every place I bring the car to tells me that the throw out, although annoying, is not a major concern and that replacing it would costs as much as doing a clutch job and I'm not about to try it without a lift so I either get more go fast parts like the cams and meth, or just get a new clutch and lighter flywheel and tune. What do I do
I have 03 brother......I also have act clutch and flywheel...mine also rattle's at idle....it is the throw out bearing....this is normal with most clutches dont throw the money away on redoing the clutch.....
Go with cams huge difference......meth or alky can come later.....cams need to be know.....
I have cams 272 272 with meth and 10.5 hotside......put down 360 WHP on mustang at 26ish psi......
Think cams and 10.5 hotside should be your next mods......

I guess the cams have it, and BC cams were exactly what I was looking at. Thanks
guys.
Otown evo, the rattle pisses me off but I guess I'll deal with it. I especially hate pulling into parking lots and having people run over to me telling me my tranny is grinding or listing 1000 parts that I need to grease to stop the noise. I have to explain the situation everytime and then I get a
look. Although when I launch the car it does go away for a few days maybe I'll just do that more often

Think about getting the cams and the aky. This way you will not have to pay for a tune twice, if you plan on upgradding any time in the future. You'll save 200-300, by spending another ~500. I would retain some cash reserve in case of breakage, ie., clutch, TC,...
